UNIT 14 P6

RadioShack head quarters have been made aware of the social and legal implications of using mobile technologies. Although your technical knowledge is very good they want to know if you can describe two instances where mobile technology could have an impact on:

a) social life. Choose from: human interaction eg text messaging, multimedia messaging, emails, virtual offices; health issues eg posture, RSI, eye strain; environmental effects eg visual impact of phone masts, disposal of components; illegal imagery

b) the law. Choose from: data security eg accidental loss, theft; hacking activities eg wardriving, piggybackin

you can present this evidence as a video or sound recording psted on to blog site, or if you prefer, you can submite it as a report.

social life: The legal effects of using your mobile phone for text meesaging. The effects are that it will re-strain you from going otside to communicate with your friends and family on a social basis, it would give you a better confidents talking through via text, this could also be a problem, but when you are outside and you have just seen them, you wouldn't be able to talk to them on your mobile unless you have wifi/ hotspot.
Multi-messaging, is when you can send pictures or video's, through your phone; and some can be legal, but sometimes if you were to get a photo online, off the internet, this could be copy right which is illegal, therefore using particular websites to download your stuff could be illegal to download.

the law : Piggybanking on internt access to pracrice of establishing a wireless internet connection by using another subscribr's wireless internet access services without the subscriber's obvious permission or their knowledge. it is a legally and ethically controversial pracrice, with the laws that vary by justidiction around the world. This is used alot around the wrold, and is very easy for people to get the information they needed for social networking sites.

UNIT 14 D2

Justify the protocol transmission type you used. Ensure you find positive and negative aspects for the protocol and suggest a second way you could have sent the contact.

  • A protocol that I use is bluetooth, i use this to send stuff such as music; pictures, videos e.t.c
  • before using bluetooth you  would have to switch it on first.Whilst  bluetooth you would have to pair with other devices then search them in your previous bluetooth senders, when you have done pairing you have switch off your bluetooth
  • Bluetooth is useful because you can send to any technical device and it has no limit.
  • Negatives about bluetooth is that sometimes depending on what phone you have bluetooth doesn't send, such  phones are IPhones.
  • Another negative about this protocol is that depending on the distance of the mobile device it would not send, if someone starts to get a distance from you and you are bluetoothing it would automatically stop.

  • Another Protocol is BBM which stands for blackberry messenger. Using BBM you can be sending things to other blackberry's such as music, pictures; video's e.t.c.
  • The negatives about BBM it has a limit of Mega bites (MB) sometimes when sending things it will decline your request because of the MB limit.
  • Another negative is that because of BBM it is only on Blackberry's and even with BBM you cannot send it on other devices except for Blackberry's.
  • Even with the MB limit you can still send things and also messages.
